As a lawyer my contribution is primarily how we can establish simpler regulations and faster approval procedures regarding Biosolutions. EU’s Biotech Act is an important step in this direction, if made in a way that enables real changes. While waiting for this regulation to go through the complicated EU process and get implemented, it is important to change complicated and time-consuming practice to the extent possible. Regulatory sandboxes present an important tool in this respect. They have the potential to allow experimental regulation of importance, if made in a way allowing flexible, innovation-friendly approach.
