Hendrik Waegeman is Head of Business Operations at Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, one of the world’s largest pilot and demonstration facilities for industrial biotechnology. With a PhD in biochemical engineering from Ghent University, he has extensive experience in metabolic engineering, precision fermentation, and scale-up of bio-based innovations. Hendrik co-founded Inbiose, a pioneer in fermentation-derived human milk oligosaccharides, and serves on the boards of several leading European biotech and bioeconomy organisations, including Bio.be and the Biobased Industries Consortium (BIC). A passionate advocate for industrial biotechnology, he works to accelerate the commercialization of sustainable bio-based solutions.
