Jakob Møller-Jensen

Odense’s life science ecosystem is growing – but if we want the companies of tomorrow to start, scale and stay here, they need more than talent and good ideas. They need the right physical environment.
This talk explores how Odense can strengthen its life science ecosystem by creating the spaces, infrastructure and communities that enable startups, researchers and established companies to grow – and what it will take to build the next generation of life science environments in the city.

Jakob Møller Jensen is a molecular biologist and has served as Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Southern Denmark since 2017. His research focuses on pathogenic bacteria, and he is co-founder of the biotech company GlyProVac.

As Head of Department, he works to create strong conditions for research, talent development, education and innovation, while strengthening collaboration between the university and industry. He is also co-founder and board member of Life Science Fyn, where he works to develop a connected life science ecosystem across Funen and create better opportunities for new companies to emerge, grow and remain in the region.
